Fall colors have arrived in the North Fork valley.  While you can still admire the aspens at higher elevations, the cottonwoods along the North Fork of the Gunnison River rival them for gold.  Now is the time to visit Paonia, see the gold, and pick up local fruit and veggies at the farmer’s markets before they close .  Don’t forget to add wine to your list.  The wineries will be open until Nov. 3.

If you are starting to plan for the holidays and considering wine to accompany your entertaining, we can help you.  Stone Cottage Cellars, the Bross Hotel and the Living Farm Cafe have designed a special wine and dine weekend  (Nov. 1 – 3) for your pleasure and the selection of wines for the holidays.  Arrive Friday evening to enjoy a wine reception and meet the other guests.  Then after a good night’s rest, participate in a Saturday morning wine seminar and select the wine you’d like to have for your holiday entertaining.  In the afternoon tour the vineyard and pick up your selected case of wine.  Chef Michael of the Living Farm Cafe will serve a five-course winemaker’s dinner with an emphasis on the pairing of food and wine.  Cost: $635 per couple, plus tax and tips.  Includes: reception, two nights lodging, two breakfasts, seminar, tour, case of wine, wine dinner.  Reservations are required: 970-527-3444.
