Summer is here, and the livin’ is easy…the toughest thing we’ve got to deal with right now is choosing which of the many events and activities to attend.

Plein Aire Watercolor Workshop August 9-13, 2010
Plein Aire artist Paula Gardner will give a five-day workshop here at the Bross Hotel. It will include drawing and color theory lessons, painting techniques and demonstrations. Personal attention in both the studio and Plein Aire settings will be offered. Paula promises that you’ll learn a lot in a supportive, fun atmosphere. At week’s end, you’ll have a finished painting, which may be suitable for framing.

All levels welcome. Ages 13 and up.

Mountain Harvest Festival September 23-26, 2010
Come to Paonia to celebrate the harvest! It’s a harvest of the arts and the land. The festivities start off with prose and poetry reading Thursday evening, Friday brings the famous chili cook-off and fashion show. On Saturday, while your children engage in a wide variety of kid’s activities, you can stomp grapes, sample local wines & beers, and stroll through the Harvest Bazaar. All of these events occur with the background of music throughout the weekend. The main music attraction is the 3-venue concert on Saturday evening when 20 bands will treat you to their varied sounds.
