Live at the Bross – Damien Jurado
with special guest Chris Pureka

August 2, 2022

The Bross Hotel is thrilled to present the next in an intimate concert series with independent music stalwart Damien Jurado, whose prolific songwriting has stood the test of time with unassuming grace. Damien’s 25+ year career has ranged from his early releases on the iconic Sub Pop record label in the 1990s to his 17th (and soon to be 18th) studio album on his own Maraqopa Records, and he continues to enthrall with stories populated by ghosts, killers, cruel lovers, and the occasional UFO cult or false messiah. His past collaborations include Richard Swift of The Shins and The Black Keys, Moby, Dolorean, Josh Tillman, and English dance music group Faithless.

Opening for Damien is Portland-based Chris Pureka, whose versatile melding of folk, Americana and indie rock genres has garnered comparisons to Chan Marshall, Bruce Springsteen, and Patty Griffin. Over many years of touring on both sides of the Atlantic she has shared the stage with such diverse and esteemed artists as The Lumineers, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Cowboy Junkies, Haley Heynderickx, and Ani DiFranco.

Tim Eriksen, live at The Bross Hotel
April 9, 2022

The Bross is excited to present the first in an intimate concert series on Saturday, April 9th with internationally-recognized artist Tim Eriksen. A legend in folk music both in America and abroad, Tim’s incandescent vocals and multi-instrumental versatility rank amongst the best. From the heartbreaking to the rollicking, he weaves together a tapestry of shape note hymnals, ballads, traditional fiddle and banjo, Balkan love songs, and more. A  contributor to the Academy Award-winning Cold Mountain soundtrack, Tim has also appeared on Mountain Stage and A Prairie Home Companion. As further testament to his range, he is often cited as the only performer to have shared a stage with both Kurt Cobain and Doc Watson.
